Colorectal Cancer Screening
Everyone over the age of 50 should be tested for colorectal cancer (CRC). There are many ways to test for CRC, but the American College of Gastroenterology recommends colonoscopy as the preferred way to screen for colon cancer. During a colonoscopy, a flexible tube with a camera and light at the end is used to view the lining of the colon. To prepare for a colonoscopy, a bowel prep needs to be ingested beforehand to clean the bowel so that the doctor can clearly view the inside of the colon.
